I downloaded aalto 1.5 yesterday, but when I open it in Logic Pro 10.0.6 the CPU appears to be maxed out. Works as normal in Live 9.
I've very much enjoyed aalto since I started using it a few months ago.
Incidentally, I have to change my password every time I visit your site.
Computer: retina macbook pro 2013- 16gb ram.
Hmm that's odd, I haven't heard of any CPU problems with Aalto 1.5. I'll try to duplicate this here. What OS are you running?
Things to try:
- make a fresh Logic project, make a new Aalto, and try that
- make sure buffer size in Logic prefs is something reasonable, like 256
- close Aalto window, does performance improve?
I haven't heard of the password problem either, sorry-that sounds like a nuisance. I wonder if clearing your browser cookies might help.
Tried as you suggested in Logic. Immediate spike to max cpu.
The cpu does drop if I close the Aalto window, although not as low as in Live 9. then spikes again when I reopen it.
I'm running OS 10.8.5
Tried to login to your website in safari, firefox, and google chrome (that I've never used before today). No go.
I happen to have 10.8.5 here, and Logic 10.0.6. And a Retina macbook pro. But I can't duplicate your issue. I bring up a new Aalto in a new Logic song, and four voices run at about 40% CPU with the window open, or 25% with it closed.
So what might be different on your computer? Audio interface? Maybe try the internal audio to make sure we are on the same page.
I see that you are logged in now, since you posted---can you tell me exactly what is happening when you try to log in?

I'm using an apogee duet (the recent ipad/mac one).
I tried as you suggested running internal audio-- no change in the cpu situation.
I do seem to have stayed logged in though!
Logic will always be a bit heavier than Live 9, in my experience.
Well, since closing the graphical window helps, let's say for now this is a graphics issue. Do you have any kind of graphics software you run that would affect drawing, like that popular time-of-day gamma changer for example?
I actually have the same problems with cpu and password. I downloaded 1.5 today and I can't use more than 2 voices until cpu hits the top. I have Macbook pro 2.3 Ghz intel core i5 8gb ram and logic pro 9.1.8. Obviously, I didn't have the same problems with previous version of Aalto. Did either of you find any solution?
I don't understand what happens when you guys are saying you can't log in. What happens instead? And then, I guess it is intermittent, or you couldn't be here? Did you do anything different to get logged in?
re: Logic and graphics I have fixed a possible issue for the next update. I'll get Aalto 1.6 out ASAP so please stay tuned and let me know how it goes.
